While Western Australia’s Margaret River region is synonymous with wine tasting, there are actually lots of places you can go that are much closer to home. Wine tasting or a wine tour is a great activity for a hen’s party, a birthday party or just as a get-together with friends – and a lovely way to recharge the batteries while someone else takes care of the kids. If you’d like to know more about wine tasting in and around Perth, here are some places to start.



Swan Valley

Ok – let’s get the obvious out of the way. The Swan Valley is located just 30 minutes east of the Perth CBD and has a huge range of vineyards that offer wine tasting, including Sandalford Wines , Lamont’s Swan Valley , Sittella , Garbin Estate Wines , Ugly Duckling Wines and Houghton .

Baldivis Karnup Wine Trail

If you would like to explore Perth’s up and coming wine region, head to the Baldivis Karnup Wine Trail, south of the city and just a short drive from Rockingham. The Baldivis Karnup trail has five wineries in close proximity, which are listed below.
