Who doesn't love getting something for a discounted rate, half price or event for FREE?
It's always great to get out and support our Perth retail sector, so what if we could all buy a bit more without spending more? There are ways and means of getting more for your dollar every time you go shopping, and here's how you can find discounts and bargains in Perth.
Entertainment App/Book
I LOVE my Entertainment app. It costs me under $80 a year and I make that back in savings and then some - plus, it raises funds for my daughter’s school. You can get discounts at sooo many places in Perth, including cafes, restaurants, the movies, services and more. My favourite is the 2-for-1 entry at play centres, which are super handy for the summer school holidays. The Entertainment app is great if you are a family who gets out and about a lot.

Get birthday treats!
Did you know there are lots of places in Perth that give away freebies and discounts on your birthday? Yep - Nandos, Subway, Muffin Break and San Churro are among the food outlets to give you a freebie or discount on your birthday, while retail outlets such as Bonds, Katies and Myers all offer a discount for your birthday. You can find a great list
here but always check with the outlet that any discounts still apply.
Join the RAC
When I insured our family camper trailer with the RAC, I automatically received an RAC membership and therefore, all the great discounted offers that accompany it! There are discounted tickets for Adventure World, Perth cinemas, AQWA, Cockburn Ice Arena, Woolworths gift cards, fuel discounts and so much more.

Visit Perth’s discount and outlet stores
Perth has some great bargain stores if you know where to look. The Direct Factory Outlet, or DFO, is located near the domestic airport, or there is Watertown in Perth. You can pick up some great brands on local and international fashions and brands, kids clothing, homewares, chocolate and so much more. Plus, Perth is also home to a Miss Maud’s outlet store where you can pick up heavily discounted cakes and savouries, and other discount and outlet stores that you can read about
here .

Check out Costco and Buy in Bulk
Costco is a wholesale store offering bulk buying to its members. You pay $60 a year to join, and in return get to buy in bulk and save! It does help to know your unit price on items, but if you love to meal plan or buy in bulk, Costco is worth investing in! They sell meat, frozen goods, fruit and vegetables, dairy, clothes, toys, books, household products, pet care, alcohol and more - their cheap petrol alone is worth the membership fee.
Scour your Local Supermarket for Bargains
I love finding bargains at the supermarket. You can find fresh produce and meat getting close to its use by date that has been heavily marked down, items with a squashed box or broken packaging, plus stuff that is no longer being made, or the packaging is changing, for example, that is priced to clear. Look out for it whenever you go shopping! Meat can be frozen and fresh produce can be used to make soups, smoothies and more.
Use your Frequent Flyer Points
Ok, so it’s not really a discount as such, but a way to save money. With interstate and international travel largely off the cards in 2020, my family had a large number of Qantas points saved up from previous travel and credit card purchases…but with nowhere to go. Using our points, my husband bought a FitBit and I bought a $250 gift card for Woolworths.
