Welcome to the start of a new series of articles by Perth Mums Group called 'Welcome to my Suburb' in which we'll be looking at some of Perth’s suburb profiles. We'll be providing information about schools, shopping, sports facilities, transport, food and restaurants and other amenities. Today, we're looking at Success, located in Cockburn (yes, have a good giggle before I tell you it's pronounced 'Co-burn') which is known for its excellent shopping centre and close proximity to public transport. Here's what you need to know.

Public transport

Success has a great network of buses running to and from the Cockburn Central Train Station, plus the newly opened Aubin Grove Train Station, which are both located on the Mandurah train line . Cockburn Central is a 20 minute train ride to the city and about 30 minutes to Mandurah.

Schools and Childcare

Primary Schools: Jandakot Primary School , Success Primary School

High School: Success has one private high school, Emmanuel Catholic College while the nearest public high school is Atwell College . You can also find a list of nearby primary schools and high schools here .

Health

The nearest public hospital is Fiona Stanley Hospital in Murdoch. FSH has an emergency department and a children’s emergency department, plus a maternity and labour wing. The nearest private service is St John of God Murdoch .

Success houses the Cockburn Intergrated Health Centre , which has a GP (including a child health nurse service), pharmacy, café, SKG Radiology, paediatric dentist and The Bump, plus so many more services. You’ll also find a Centrelink Branch here. Across at Cockburn Gateways Shopping Centre, there’s also Apollo Health which has a medical centre that is open from 8am to 10pm daily, plus many other medical and health services. Just a few minutes away at Harvest Lakes, Atwell, there's the Harvest Lakes 24/7 Medical Centre .



Shopping

Success is home to Cockburn Gateways Shopping City , which has a Coles, Woolworths, Aldi, Big W, Target, Goodlife Gym, plus lots of speciality shops, telco providers, banks and restaurants, both in the food court and alfresco dining areas. As an added bonus for parents, there’s also the recently opened Wiggly Toes creche located just outside the centre, in which you can leave your children for a couple of hours while you shop.

Dining out

There are plenty of places to eat out and drink in Success, including The Gate Bar and Bistro, Café Nocello, Lone Star Rib House, Dragon Palace, Dome Café and lots more.

Fitness

Success has a Goodlife Health Club , Jetts Fitness and an Anytime Fitness . In nearby Cockburn Central, you’ll find unique boxing gym Round 1 Fitness, plus the state of the art Cockburn ARC .



Community Services

Success has a library , which is located the Cockburn Integrated Health Centre, plus a youth centre located just outside. Police

The nearest police station is at the Cockburn Central complex.

Parks, playgrounds and beaches



You'll find heaps of parks and little playgrounds dotted around Success. The nearest beaches are located in nearby Coogee, including Coogee Beach and Woodman Point.
