Parmelia is a small suburb located in the City of Kwinana. It's got a lot going for it, including being one of the cheapest suburbs in the metro area to buy a first home and get your foot in the real estate door. It has a rapidly expanding shopping centre, the Kwinana Marketplace, and has great public transport links to the Perth CBD, Rockingham, Mandurah and Cockburn. Welcome to my Suburb takes a closer look at what Parmelia has to offer.

Public transport

Parmelia has a good network of buses that run to and from the Kwinana Train Station, which is located on the Mandurah train line and is less than 30 minutes to the Perth CBD, 10 minutes to Cockburn, less than minutes to Rockingham and 25 minutes to Mandurah. Parmelia is also close to Wellard train station, which is on the same train line as Kwinana.

Shopping

• Kwinana Marketplace is Parmelia’s local shopping precinct and is currently undergoing renovations. It houses Woolworths, Big W, Best and Less, a fresh fruit and vegetable market, plus speciality shops and health and beauty services.
• Aldi is across the road from the Marketplace complex.
• Rockingham City Shopping Centre is a ten minute drive from Parmelia.

Community Services

• The Darius Wells Centre houses the Kwinana Public Library (see below) plus the Toddler Town Creche and even a Dome Café! The centre runs term and school holiday programs.

Parmelia has a police station, located at 2 Sulphur Road, Parmelia.

• Kwinana Adventure Park in nearby Calista.
• Peace Park is the location for the local dog exercise park and has lots of dog training equipment in a secure environment.
