Cockburn Aquatic and Recreation Centre Playground
Location: Parking via Veterans Parade, Cockburn Central

Why itís great for kids:

It is small, so itís not too overwhelming, but thereís plenty to explore.
It has an awesome rock climbing wall!
The park features many elements of nature play, along with racing slides, a tripod swing and a rope-based climbing frame.

Why itís great for parents:

There are free drinking water fountains and undercover picnic areas.
It is within walking distance to the Cockburn ARC, which has a cafe! There are also toilets over at the ARC.
Plenty of parking on the street and over at the ARC.



Bibra Lake Regional Playground
Location: Progress Drive, Bibra Lake

Why itís great for kids:

This is one of the best parks south of Perth, with a huge array of play spaces to explore, including sensory play, nature play and all sorts of play equipment.
There is water play, making it a top spot for a hot day.
The tree walk, flying fox and musical play are all highlights of the playground.

Why itís great for parents:

The entire park is gated, meaning little runners wonít get too far.
There are toilets within the park and change facilities.
Plenty of shaded picnic spots, plus barbecues and undercover picnic tables.



Botany Park, Hammond Park
Location: Macquarie Boulevard, Hammond Park (next to Hammond Park Hurricanes Junior Football Club)

Craft Beer and Food is an opportunity to tour the city while sampling fantastic craft beer and food!
Why itís great for kids:

The playground has recently undergone a bit of a makeover, with new equipment added to the existing pieces.
There is sand and water play.
The kids can ride around the bike and scooter track, which even has stop signs.

Why itís great for parents:

The playground is gated, keeping little ones safely inside.
There are options for food and drink at the nearby shopping centre on Macquarie Boulevard.
There are public toilets located within the junior football club complex.
The playground has water fountains, public barbecues and picnic tables.
There is also free outdoor exercise equipment!



Dixon Park Nature Playground, Hamilton Hill
Location: Ommanney Street, Hamilton Hill

Why itís great for kids:

The playground incorporates plenty of nature play using rope and timber.
There is water play, perfect for a hot day!
There are different play areas to explore, including some that are suitable for toddlers.

Why itís great for parents:

The playground is surrounded by wide footpaths that are suitable for prams or for scooting, cycling and skating.
There are water fountains, public barbecues and undercover picnic spots.



Coogee Beach Playground
Location: Coogee Beach, Powell Road, Coogee

Why itís great for kids:

Itís a small playground, so itís best for keeping younger children amused for a morning or afternoon.
There is plenty of space on the reserve to run around, play a bit of cricket or kick the footy.
The playground is close to the beach, where you and the kids can make sandcastles, collect shells and dip your toes in the water.

Why itís great for parents:

The playground is conveniently located next to Coogee Beach Cafe, which serves up coffee, breakfast, lunch, snacks and takeaway meals.
There is heaps of space on the reserve to roll out a picnic rug and settle in for a few hours.
There are undercover picnic areas plus public barbecues.
Plenty of parking.
There are toilets at Coogee Beach Reserve.



Calleya Estate Adventure Playground, Banjup
Location: Wattleseed Avenue, Banjup

Why itís great for kids:

This playground has an awesome 6-metre high climbing tower and twisting slide for adventurous kids!
There is also musical play, sensory play, a tripod swing and other little play spaces to explore.
The park features a half basketball court and a large grassy area to run around or kick the footy about.

Why itís great for parents:

There are public barbecues available, plus undercover picnic tables.
The playground is only a short distance from Mooba Cafe in Calleya, which has great coffee and a play area for the kids! It is however, closed on Monday and Tuesday and has limited opening hours from Wednesday to Sunday.
It is also not too far from coffee and food over at the South Central industrial complex, which has takeaway coffee at Bunnings Warehouse and Muffin Break (located at Crocs Play Centre) plus takeaway food.
