In a time when teaching our children the value of minimising waste is of utmost importance are on a mission to teach children the concept of recycling and prove once and for all the magical properties of even the most seemingly mundane of objects.

A beautiful Recycled Fairies Autumn themed garden.

Originally started as a mother-daughter bonding activity, sprang to life after a friend made a comment which helped Natasha - the owner and founder - realise the business potential behind her concept.

This is the garden that launched Recycled Fairies from a bonding activity to a fully fledged business.

As a parent I try my best to instill in my children the value of conservation, preservation, and waste minimalisation. made this teaching process just that much easier with their range of innovative products, workshops, and parties.

If you are looking for a unique gift you can request and purchase one of Natasha’s beautiful custom made gardens. Each garden is created by hand in recycled wheelbarrows, pots or barrels and include something to suit all budgets.

A custom garden that was created by Natasha and donated to an Australia's Biggest Morning Tea fundraiser.

For a more hands on experience I recommend the miniature garden making workshops. Selecting from a range of themes; fairies, trains, Star Wars, Lego land, or dinosaurs; workshop participants use a variety of recycled, repurposed, and found objects to create their own take-home masterpiece.

On Sunday my son and I were welcomed warmly by Natasha and her young daughter into their creating space in Girrawheen, to take part in one of their workshops. Tables were set out so that each child would have their own work station, each one containing items to suit the requested theme. No direction was given and none was needed as each child stretched the bounds of their imagination using all of the items that Natasha had sourced or rescued to build their own personal magical landscape.

I do not believe any recommendation comes higher than that of a 9 year old boy asking “when we can do it again?” and that is exactly what was asked of me as we left the workshop with his Lego land masterpiece in hand.

Whether you are looking to entertain your little ones, a group of your girlfriends or even just have a personal time out can custom create a workshop to meet your needs or you can book into one of their regular classes. Alternatively, if you are looking for a unique way to celebrate a special birthday look no further than birthday parties.

If workshops aren't your thing also offer a “Garden in a Box” range. These fabulous kits come equipped with everything needed to create a miniature garden in the comfort of your own home.
