NORTHERN SUBURBS
The Carine Glades Tavern

The Carine Glades Tavern
Details: The Carine has a large, gated outdoor play area for children with slides and climbing, as well as a putting green. It is very welcoming of families with a Kids Club, monthly colouring-in competition (worth $200) and has an extensive kids menu with generous serves.

Details: The Whale Ale have a gated play area outside with tables for families to sit and watch. They offer a kids menu and you can buy activities bags for $2.

Details: Spur are an international chain with huge steaks, over the top themes and are very welcoming to the kids in order to attract families. Restaurants tend to have a separate room or two for children, glass walled so you can see (and hear) with play equipment, games consoles and arcade games.

“Golden Spur in Mandurah, serves were generous, kids loved the play area and games consoles, but it got extremely loud and crazy in there on a busy Saturday night. Not really safe for little kids under four or five unless you plan on staying with them the entire night. Older kids can be left to their own devices. Go on a quiet weeknight. Mandurah Spur has a bouncy castle as well.” PMG Member.
EASTERN SUBURBS/HILLS
Masonmill Garden
Cuisine: Modern Australian

Masonmill Gardens
Details: Located in the hills and surrounded by jarrah forests, it is easy to see why Masonmill is often a wedding destination. They also have a nature play area and a Koi pond, and are pram friendly with a kids menu as well. Open daily for lunch, it is only open for dinner Friday and Saturday.

Details: Naked Apple Cider is located in the Perth Hills and has a new outdoor adventure playground plus plenty of gardens and paths and hidden areas for children to explore.It is open Thursday to Saturday from 11am to 10pm and Sunday 8:30am to 5pm.

CENTRAL
Stickybeaks Café

Details: Located inside the Ivey Watson playground, Stickybeaks offers a range of breakfast, lunches and snacks, with the full breakfast menu being offered at the end of the week. There is plenty of seating, and it all overlooks part of the playground, which is simply enormous and you cannot see it all at once. The separate area for the smallest of children is at some distance from the café. For older kids you can let them run loose, and as long as you sit with an eye on the entrance (which isn’t gated) they can’t escape without you knowing. It can be pricey, but you can easily spend the entire day there (and you bring your own picnic to the playground).

Details: Most Outback Jacks restaurants have a separate Kids’ Room with a variety of entertainment including playstations and TV. For the younger kids they have colouring-in, and there is a kids menu with plenty of options and include icecream.

Details: The Brooklands Tavern welcomes families with an indoor play area, kids menu and Kids Club with free meals and other activities. Like all pubs it can buys on certain nights, but is a great destination on a weeknight with children.

Details: The café is open for breakfast and lunch and closes before dinner time. While they do not have their own play area, they are closely located to all the attractions of the Weir, so it is more likely that you eat your meal together and leave to walk down to the playground. Only older children could go to the play area by themselves.

Details: Although the adjoining playground doesn’t strictly belong to the café, if you sit on one side of the semi-al fresco restaurant, you can see straight out to the sandpit and playground next door. It is a fair walk to the river, so safe enough for children, but close enough that you could easily go for a walk or scoot after lunch/breakfast. They have a kids menu.

Details: Like a diamond in the rough, the stunning grounds of Ramon’s seem unlikely in the surrounding industrial areas, but with a large Japanese garden, beautiful koi pond, waterfall and large grassed areas for children to explore it is a favourite of casual diners and brides. You can buy fish food to feed the decorative koi and kids eat free every Monday to Thursday.

Details: Although Little Creatures is very welcoming of kids, it needs to be remembered that it is a pub. A dedicated kids menu, awesome view and large sandpit out the back makes it a popular (and busy) summer destination.

Details: While located across from the water with beautiful views, the Left Bank doesn’t have its own playground but it does cater to families. Given its true nature as a pub, it’s best to go early and take advantage of the

Details: Clancy’s overlooks an enormous open lawn area, although it doesn’t have any play equipment if you brought a ball or cricket set, it would suit older kids. Clancy’s has a small kids menu and you need to remember that it is a pub, so stick to family-friendly times.

Details: One of the first Perth restaurants to build a dedicated kids play area inside, Siena’s still enjoys a place at the top of the family-friendly lists, but it is best suited for slightly older children (aged4 ) who do not need constant supervision. It can be crowded and not great for prams.

Details: The Herdsman Tavern is a popular destination for families with a large indoor play area for children, and a regular Kids Eat Free offer every Sunday. It can get busy, but is perfect for an early meal with the family.

Details: Although Daverro don’t strictly have their own play area for kids, it is next door to a shaded, outdoor playground in the courtyard of the Floreat Forum, and if you ask to be seated outside, you can easily watch over your children as they play.

Details: A popular destination in the Swan Valley, Elmars is a large German restaurant and craft brewery with a large grassed area for children, making it a good option in nice weather. You need to remember to bring your own balls, games and Frisbee as nothing is provided, and it is better for slightly older children who can be left semi-supervised.

The New Oakover Co-op

Details: Oakover is located on the edge of a dam, as many Swan Valley restaurants are, so you need to keep an eye on your children, but on the other side of the building is a large grassed area, with a few large trees and lovely lumpy bits for kids to run around on. There are buckets of bats and balls and paddle boats for guests to use on the dam at certain times of year.

Details: With a restaurant the size of a paddock and a large semi-shaded (and gated) play area, Cheeky Monkey is a very popular destination for families visiting the Margaret River region. The play area is located quite some distance from the restaurant and there are only so many tables that have a direct view, so if you have very little children they need to be supervised (there is also a dam). Very generous servings. Arrive early.
