Brace yourself Perth - winter is here! July means cold weather and school holidays. If you are struggling to find things to do with the kids, Perth Mums Group has put together some ideas to keep the kids entertained.

School Holidays at WA Museum Boola Bardip

WA Museum Boola Bardip offers a range of exciting school holiday programs in July, including mask making, animation, video games and so much more.
Programs are best suited to aged 8 and over.

Discover incredible artwork that colours Perth’s streets, laneways and public spaces that you might never find on your own!
A fantastic school holiday activity to spend with the family, and an ideal way to see Perth in a way like no other.
Participants will see murals, graffiti and sculptures and learn about the artists, techniques used and stories behind the work.

Would your children love to learn how to code? Codekids has school holiday workshops this winter for kids in year 1 and above.
Bring them along to learn coding from scratch, or to help them build on previous skills.

Camp Hero Sports Clinic
WHERE: Newman College, 216 Empire Avenue, Churchlands

This fun, dynamic 3-day school holiday program is hosted by zero2hero and invites participants to improve their skills in a variety of sport disciplines including AFL, netball, basketball, soccer, cricket, hockey, athletics and more.
During the program, young athletes will also have the opportunity to hear from experts in sporting related fields.
They will learn about nutrition, performance coaching, sports physio, plus strength and conditioning.

Circus Craft Craziness at Inglewood Library

Head over to Inglewood Library to clown around and create circus themed craft activities!

Powerful Me! School Holiday Program
WHERE: Canning Vale Community Centre, Eucalyptus Blvd and Waratah Blvd, Canning Vale
WHEN: Monday, 12th July 9am-3pm
AGE GROUP 9-12 years
COST: $53.84 (includes booking fees)

Bring your daughter along to this one-day workshop and help empower them to become resilient and confident young women of the future.
During the workshop, they will learn needs vs wants, how to celebrate what makes them unique and realistic budget expectations to achieve their goals.
Positive self-talk and affirmations.

STEAM Club Presents: Gamer Club
WHERE: Success Public Library, 11 Wentworth Parade, Success
WHEN: Thursday, 8th July at 10am-12pm

At this monthly STEAM Club, children will explore the world of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics.
Children will imagine, invent, and innovate with fun and challenging hands-on activities.
Suitable for ages 10 and over.

Holiday Cupcake Class
WHERE: City of Mandurah - Lakelands Library and Community Centre, 49 Banksiadale Gate, Lakelands
WHEN: Tuesday, 13th July at 10:30am-12pm
AGE GROUP 11 - 16 year old
COST: $38.01 (includes booking fees)

During this 1.5 hour workshop, children will create and finish four Pizza cupcakes which they will take home.
The perfect school holiday activity for children aged 11-16 years who love to bake and create in the kitchen.
All tools, equipment and apron supplied.


Noongar Arts and Crafts for Ages 5-12 years
WHERE: Morley Library, 240 Walter Road West, Morley
WHEN: Friday, 16th July at 3pm-4pm
AGE GROUP 5-12 years
COST: Free

At this free school holiday workshop, children will learn about Noongar people and explore and touch traditional artefacts.
They will also taste bush cordial and damper, make an art project and finish by learning a song, dance.
They might even get a chance to throw a spear!

Clowning Around in the Library
WHERE: Stirling Libraries - Dianella, Waverley Street, Dianella
WHEN: Tuesday, 6th July at 10:30am-11:30am
AGE GROUP 7-14 years
COST: Free

It’s going to be a circus at Dianella Library these school holidays.
Bring the kids along for an introduction to circus skills, followed by an interactive juggling workshop.
All participants will take home their very own set of juggling balls to practise their skills at home!

2 Day Teen Sports Academy by Autism WA
WHERE: Hillarys (also Midvale)
WHEN: Throughout the July school holidays
AGE GROUP For teens in years 4-12 (with a diagnosis of autism)
COST: Free

Run by Autism WA, these 2-day school holiday sports camps are ideal for children with autism to try a number of different sports.
Alongside this, participants will also be supported to link in with local community sports programs based on their academy experiences.
The Sports Academy will be facilitated by the therapy team in addition to volunteer specialist sports coaches.


Underwater Seascapes: Holiday Art Classes for Kids and Families
WHERE: Midland Junction Arts Centre, 276 Great Eastern Highway, Midland
WHEN: Monday, 12th July 3pm-5pm
AGE GROUP Ages 6 and over
COST: $38.01 (includes booking fee)

During this school holiday workshop, children will work with an artist and draw inspiration from the ocean to create drawings and design their clay tiles.
Children will then move onto working with clay, focusing on form and texture, building abstract or figurative underwater seascapes.
All materials and equipment are provided and included in the cost.

School Holiday Pasta Cooking Workshops
WHERE: Lathlain
WHEN: Saturday 10th July
AGE GROUP Ages 12 and over
COST: $75 per person

Got kids who love to cook and create? These pasta making workshops are the ideal school holiday workshop.
Taking place on Saturday, 10th July, cost is $75 and class sizes are small.
Light lunch provided.
