Resilience Kit: Group Programs for Kids to Improve Coping Skills

Sometimes children just need a bit of help in managing their worries, gaining confidence and building resilience.

Does your child get anxious easily? Do they worry or panic at school drop-off time? When speaking in front of their class? After making mistakes? They may need some help in building resilience and confidence.

Resilience Kit is a Perth service introducing therapeutic concepts to children aged from 4 to 14 years through playful, fun and creative group sessions. These sessions are designed to develop children’s executive skills in building resilience, reducing and preventing anxiety.

By enhancing their executive skills, your child can learn to find better ways to cope with everyday challenges. Executive skills are the cognitive skills required to negotiate the demands of home life, school, friends and childhood.

When your child's executive skills improve, they will also find it easier to:

Regulate emotions
Control impulses which can get them into trouble
Be flexible when things do not go to plan
Organise themselves for school
Initiate work and stay on task

Resilience Kit specialises in positive and inclusive group programs. This allows children of all social-skill levels to experience the therapeutic concepts in a fun and non-clinical way, leading them to engage, interact and learn more. The group settings also help them learn they are not alone.

While there are many services in Perth that provide individual, personalised support for children to help with feelings, difficult thoughts and behavioural challenges, it’s important to find the right type of support and environment that’s comfortable and beneficial for your child and your family.

To determine if your child is suitable for a Resilience Kit group program, you can complete their pre-screening Pre-Program Questionnaire. You can read more about the questionnaire here.

Enrolments are currently open for Term 2, starting Sunday, 19th May 2019. Sessions are available during the school holidays and on weekends during school term time. Spots are limited.

Give your child the gift of confidence, resilience and the ability to manage their anxieties and emotions in a fun group setting. You can see more at the website or follow the Facebook page.
