Seriously, who doesn’t love a flying fox? Clearly, the kids of Perth do because there are flying foxes popping up at just about every other playground around the suburbs. It certainly a drawcard to any park and now there are even flying foxes with accessible seats, making it easier for people of all abilities to have a go. Here’s where you can find a playground with a flying fox in Perth’s northern suburbs.
Charles Riley Reserve, North Beach
North Beach Road, North Beach
The double flying fox has a seat with a harness for all abilities.
Wheelchair access to the top of the flying fox.
The park also has play equipment for various ages plus shaded areas.
Braithwaite Park, Mount Hawthorn

Has two flying foxes.
The newer Nature Play area is primarily designed for children aged around 10 to 14 years and includes timber platforms and a high spider web.
The area for younger children has swings, a slide and climbing frame.
The park has toilets, picnic and barbeque facilities and plenty of parking.

Has some unusual bits of play equipment, including a unique roundabout, rope climbing frame and balance beams.

Has a double flying fox.
The kids will love the timber fort and nature based play equipment.
Also has a separate play area for toddlers.
Broadbeach Park, Hillarys

Has a single seat flying fox.
The playground includes a pirate themed play structure, plus there is a bird’s nest swing and little rockers.
Amberton Estate, Eglinton

Huge double flying fox.
The playground also has a climbing structure and other various play equipment.

Livvi’s Playground, Brabham
Mayfield Drive, Brabham
This all-abilities playground has a double flying fox with a seat suitable for wheelchairs.
The playground has been designed for all abilities including those with a physical disability, mobility, vision or hearing impairments and autism spectrum disorders.
Other features include sand and water play, swings and rope play. The playground is enclosed.
