Perth's new DFO has opened! Why not take the kids along for a look and to score some bargains!

If you have driven in the vicinity of the Perth Airport's domestic T3 and T4 terminals lately, you may have noticed that the Direct Factory Outlet, or DFO, has now opened.

The DFO opened to the public on Wednesday, 3 October 2018 and I went to have a look with my two young children in tow. Yes, crazy indeed, given the busy nature of opening morning, but they come along to most places with me, so this was no different.

As the name suggests, the DFO is a direct factory outlet offering high end brands and products at hugely discounted prices. Just some of the well-known retailers to open at the outlet include Guess, Tommy Hilfiger, Polo Ralph Lauren, Mimco, Hugo Boss, Oroton,Calvin Klein, Superdry, Royal Doulton and Kate Space.

If youíve ever shopped at US bulk store Costco, you may be familiar with the childrenís clothing brands Carters and OshKosh. The DFO has an OshKosh-Carterís outlet store and stocks a large range of the hugely popular brands.

The DFO doesnít have a huge variety of stores dedicated to childrenís clothing, but there is a Cotton On Kids and an Ollieís Place Kidswear outlet, in which you may find some fantastic bargains on kidswear, while Bonds clothing fans should also be excited about the Bonds Outlet.

Perthís DFO has just about every aspect of fashion and homewares covered Ė you will find male, female and mixed fashion outlets, footwear, jewellery, accessories, underwear, handbags, sportswear and so much more. There is also a range of homewares from brands such as Sheridan, House, Adore Home Living, Adairs and Matchbox. You can find the full list of retailers here.

My children and I paid a visit to the Lindt Chocolate Store first up, because this chocoholic mother clearly has her priorities in order. The store is the second outlet store in Perth and joins the outlet at Watertown in West Perth.

My toddler was itching to get her little hands on some Lindor balls from the amazing pick and mix display in the middle of the store, and it is for this reason I suggest try not to be crazy like me and visit the shop alone or leave the kids outside with an adult. You will find just about every flavour of Lindt chocolate, plus they also offer takeaway coffee.

The DFO is a great shopping destination for families and even has a playground for children aged up to 11 years. Being located so close to the airport, it of course has an aeroplane theme. The play structure resembles the body of an aeroplane, and there is a little plane in the toddlers section.

You will also find sensory play for young children, plus rope ladders, rock climbing holds and a slide for the older kids. The playground is located just outside the food court.

If you need to stop for a bite to eat, the DFO has a range of takeaway options that includes Subway, Mad Mex, Mumbai Rocks, Sushi Sushi and Chinese Canton. There is also an Espresso bar, Macchinetta, located next to the OshKosh-Carters store.

There are toilets with baby change facilities and plenty of parking available, although parking fees apply.

If you are a fan of shopping or are just curious to see what sort of bargains are available, donít hesitate to take the kids along with you for this child-friendly shopping experience. The DFO is located just off Dunreath Drive at Perth Airport at the domestic T3 and T4 (Qantas) terminals.
