The summer school holidays are upon us. If you are struggling to think of ways to keep the kids entertained, Perth has a huge number of fantastic school holiday events happening in December and January, and we have found some of the best!

Crochet for Kids, Mandurah
A small class during school holidays for kids aged 7 - 12 interested in learning crochet! Kids will make a cute bookmark with googly eyes. Class includes materials, drink and a chocolate treat!

Roald Dahl’s Fantastic Mr Fox
Roald Dahl’s classic
Fantastic Mr Fox is brought to life in Perth these summer school holidays. See the story of Mr Fox pitted against the three greedy farmers Boggis, Bunce and Bean – one fat, one short, one lean. When they try to outfox him, Mr Fox needs to save his family and friends and he’ll go to any lengths to outwit these three mean humans.

Things for Kids Activity Directory

Freedom Fairies at Fringe
You are never too old for a bit of fairy magic! Step inside the Freedom Fairy garden, where magic and wonder grow, where all manner of wishes they weave and bestow.
There is nothing they can't do, from face painting to Henna, Glitter and Hair braiding, available at the small price of 5 pieces of treasure! Tickets not required.

It’s a Pirate Attack at EFYC!
Arrggghhhh, me hearties! The Duyfken will attack East Fremantle Yacht Club these school holidays. Those who fail to surrender will walk the plank!
Put on your best pirate gear and enjoy a fun-filled day that will include a bouncy castle, games, the St Ayles Skiffs, Navy Cadets and much more for the kids throughout the afternoon. This is a free event open to both members and non-members.

Faeries, Mermaids and Pixies - an Unfairy Tale Fringe Show
This Fringe World event is a full musical theatre production for families with singing, dancing, interactive theatre and a storyline to treasure. You’ll hear your favourite Eco Faerie songs performed live. Come along and dance and sing along with them!

Scitech at North Perth Common
Scitech brings the science to North Perth these school holidays! At 10am, learn about Burning, Melting and Saving, and ponder if there are other ways to make fuel. Ancient Rome: Epic Innovators and Engineers at the Maritime Museum
Ancient Rome: Epic Innovators and Engineers is a family-friendly exhibition featuring carefully reconstructed replica machines that reflect one of the most technologically significant times in the human history. This exhibition includes models, catapults, frescoes, armour, weapons, busts, and much more, with plenty of things to touch. We also have some fun dress-ups and a photo wall - will you be a goddess or a gladiator?
Ancient Rome is best suited to primary school aged children though the entire family will enjoy learning about this fascinating era.

Nature Detectives Holiday Program, Perry Lakes
