The school holidays are upon us once again! If you need some inspiration about what to do with the kids, or where to go, we have you covered! Whether you are looking for a family-friendly getaway, fun activities to do or new places to check out, this guide will give you plenty of ideas.



Regency Beach Club

The October school holidays are finally here! It’s time to take a break with the family at in Dunsborough and take advantage of a great school holiday special!

Crochet for Kids

Spare Parts Puppet Theatre - On Our Beach

Visit Optus Stadium

There is always plenty going on at Optus Stadium! You can take a tour and see the inner workings of the stadium, visit the Chevron Parklands or the new Sensory Playground.

Other places to go, with suggestions from our wonderful Perth Mums Group readers and group members!

Head to your local shopping centre - many centres offer free activities for kids during school holidays. Follow their Facebook page for events and updates.
Get dirty in nature at Kings Park Naturescape.
Head to your local Bunnings, which frequently run workshops for kids!
Catch a train to Fremantle or the city, where you can find so many things to do with the kids.
Get a ferry to the Perth Zoo.
For something a little different, take a trip to Peel Zoo!
Ride scooters at the skate park at the revamped Scarborough Beach.
Go for a bush walk in Bold Park, the Trigg Bushlands or the Perth Hills.
Take ‘The Amazing Chase’ through the Swan Valley].
Explore one of Perth’s waterfalls!



Activities to do

Activities to do with the kids, with suggestions from our wonderful Perth Mums Group readers and group members!

Go camping (even in your own back yard.)
Collect leaves and twigs at the park, then come home and make pictures with them.
Make a scavenger hunt and go for a walk to find the items.
Get the kids to do some YouTube style reviews. Film it and share it wit friends and family (or start your own YouTube channel!)
Go to the library and choose some books or DVDs.
Clean out all those clothes that no longer fit and toys that no longer get played with and donate them to charity or Fostering Hope.
Put some music on and have a dance competition. See who has the craziest moves in your family!
Find a new recipe to cook together.
Go to an op shop and try and find a complete outfit for $20.
Write and put on a play.
Learn how to count to 10 in another language
Get coloured hair sprays, chalk, crimpers, curling wands and have a crazy hair day.
Learn to knit or crochet.
Ride bikes to the local pool, park, playground or your local library.
See if you can visit a nursing home with the kids.
Get chalk and mark out a hop scotch.
Make and fly a kite.
Have a sandcastle building competition at the beach.
Write someone a letter, or make them a card.
