The Meckering earthquake remains one of the most significant in Australian history in terms of the damage to infrastructure and the subsequent cultural upheaval. Sunday October 14, 2018 marks the 50th anniversary of the Meckering earthquake. To commemorate this significant occasion, the town of Meckering will host a festival event with market stalls, food and beverage for purchase and family friendly entertainment and attractions.
