February means back to school and back to reality for the kids. But don’t worry! If you’re on the hunt for some family friendly live events to take their mind off reality, check out the Perth Mums Group list of events taking place in February. From concerts to sporting events, and kids shows to outdoor movies, here are some family-friendly events taking place around Perth. Perth and Western Suburbs

Kids Events at Fringe World 2017
Date: Every day to Sunday, 19th February 2017.
Where: Events held across Perth.

Fringe World 2017 is a collection of fun and cultural events held across Perth. There are lots of events for kids happening, including many free events.



West of the Moon, Northbridge
Date: Tuesday, 31st January to Saturday, 4th February at 6:30pm.
Where: The Blue Room Theatre, 53 James Street, Northbridge.
Cost: $21 to $26.

Suitable for ages 10 and over, this fairy tale told with shadow puppets brings a traditional Scandinavian folk tale to life with sword fights, wizards, trolls and a magical kingdom.

Aaaand Now For….Kiddo Kaos!
Date: Saturday, 11th and Sunday 12th February and Saturday, 18th and Sunday, 19th February from 4:30pm to 5:30pm.
Where: Russell Square Park, Northbridge.

This all ages comedy extravaganza relies on improvised mayhem, music and merriment. Audience participation drives the show, meaning no two outcomes are the same.



Perth Glory Football Club
Date: Season runs to Sunday, 17th April 2017.
Where: NIB Stadium (home games only) 310 Pier Street, Perth.

Cheer on the Glory at home at NIB Stadium as they take on the Newcastle Jets on Saturday, 4th February at 7pm, Brisbane Roar on Saturday, 18th February at 7pm and the Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday, 25th February at 7pm.



Perth Wildcats National Basketball League
Date: Season runs from to Sunday, 12th February 2017.
Where: Perth Arena, 700 Wellington Street, Perth.

Join the Red Army and see the Wildcats in action as they take on the Brisbane Bullets on Friday, 3rd February and the Sydney Kings on Friday, 10th February.



North of the River

Live in the Ampitheatre, Wanneroo
Date: Wednesday, 1st February to Saturday, 25th February from 6pm to 10pm.
Where: Jacaranda Ampitheatre, Civic Centre, 23 Dundebar Road, Wanneroo.
Cost: Free, but you need to be a City of Wanneroo resident.

Watch some of 2016’s best films, plus some awesome kids’ classics like the A Bug’s Life and Finding Dory at these free outdoor movie sessions in Wanneroo. Free tickets for Wanneroo residents only!



Hot Summer’s Night, Bassendean
Date: Saturday, 4th February from 7pm to 10pm
Where: Cyril Jackson Rec Centre, Fisher Street, Bassendean.
Cost: $20 adults, $12.50 for kids under 16, family pass (two adults and two kids) $55.

Explosive Pro Wrestling comes to Bassendean! This all ages event will celebrate EPW’s 15th year anniversary with some of the best pro wresting around.



South of the River

Fremantle Dockers Women’s AFL competition
Date: Sunday, 12th February and Sunday, 26th February at 4:05pm (season runs to 19th March 2017.)

The AFL’s historical women’s league will get underway in February with a two-month fixture. The Fremantle Dockers Women’s team will take on The Brisbane Lions on February 12th at 4:05pm and the Adelaide Crows on Sunday, 26th February at 4:05pm, with both games taking place at Fremantle Oval.



Cockburn’s Got Talent, Heat 1
Date: Thursday, 23rd February at 6:30pm.
Where: Cockburn Gateways Shopping Centre, 816 Beeliar Drive, Succes.
Cost: Free for spectators.

There will be prizes on offer for the best local entertainers at Cockburn’s Got Talent! With three age categories for five to 10 year olds, 11 to 17 year olds and ages 18 plus, it will be a night of entertainment for the whole family.

Perth Hills

Disney’s Camp Rock – The Musical
Date: Friday, 17th February from 7pm to 9pm, Saturday, 18th and Sunday, 19th February from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm, Friday, 24th February from 7pm to 9pm, Saturday, 25th and Sunday 26th February from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm.
