Little Land is Perth's biggest, little play town offering a scaled-down version of the real world, inspiring your child to learn through role-play.
Founded in 2019 by a local Perth Mum with two little boys, Little Land has welcomed over 100,000 Wanderers and continues to grow and expand, now boasting 18 interactive play spaces for children to explore!
Inspire Your Child's Imagination at Little Land
Designed by a team of experts including paediatric occupational therapists, speech pathologists, early childhood educators, educators working with children with special needs, paediatric physios and parents, Little Land is suitable for children up to early school years.
Role-play is an important part of child development and a way for children to make sense of the world around them. Children start to engage in role-play from around 18 months of age. At Little Land, your children can immerse themselves in a diverse range of creative and educational play spaces.
Children can shop at the Little Growers Market, relax in the Busy Beans café and put their feet up in a cosy home setting. Or they can drop by the Doctors' Surgery or Construction Site, and visit the School and Emergency Services Area. Other favourite play areas include the Vet, an Office space, City Central, and the popular Big Adventures caravan!
Wanderers can also explore inspiring new areas, including the Pizza Bar, Taco Time, LL Post and the Fire Station.
Best of all, Little Land's play guides have been developed to provide literacy and numeracy play and learning for children across different ages (with images, text and numbers) plus extended learning opportunities for older children
All the spaces are complemented with high-quality play props and are regularly updated, keeping them interesting for regular Wanderers and exciting for little ones new to the town!
Importance of Role-Playing
Role-play provides a safe space for problem-solving and supports children in developing social skills (how they get along with their peers) and emotional skills (how they react to situations) including empathy, conflict resolution and teamwork. These are all vital skills that will serve them in the school setting and other aspects of life.
Role-play can assist physical development, engaging children’s motor skills and hand-to-eye coordination - whether it be dressing or feeding a baby or building at the construction site. It can also have a positive effect on speech and language acquisition, enhancing communication skills with the use of eye contact, turn-taking and listening skills.
