If you’re planning a trip to Two Rocks, some 60km north of the Perth CBD, you’ll find family friendly dining at Tavern at the Rocks.

As the name suggests, Tavern at the Rocks is situated on the rocks and overlooks the Two Rocks marina. It is split into four levels, the bottom two of which are dedicated to dining. The top two levels are bars, although the second level bar has the added bonus of a box of toys for restless little ones.

We took a seat on the very bottom level, which was empty, but the second bottom level had a few diners in, including lots of kids, all enjoying a meal. We were served immediately, offered drinks and provided with a highchair by a friendly waitress.

Tavern on the Rocks has a kids menu – all meals are $10 and include a soft drink. There are five choices, including fish and chips, meatballs and a kids sized parmi. We chose the kids fish and chips, which was enough food for an adult. The fish was absolutely beautiful – great quality and cooked to perfection.

There’s lots of different meals to choose from on the menu, including starters and snack-sized meals, main courses, salads and burgers. I chose the Thai Green Chicken Curry, which was delicious – the chicken was tender and the curry sauce full of flavour. It was served on a bed of fluffy rice.

The other choices at our table included a serve of chicken wings with hot sauce – which weren’t overly hot, the Mexican quesadilla and the pork knuckle. The quesadilla – a tortilla filled with beef, sour cream, refried beans and salsa, was full of Mexican flavours that weren’t overpowered by the refried beans.

The pork knuckle was juicy and tender and the pork crackle crispy and delicious, and was served with kifler potatoes.

Outside the tavern is a small garden area with some statues that the kids might like to have a look at once they have finished their lunch or dinner.

Overall, the experience was well received and it was certainly a great find for family friendly dining. If you enjoy delicious food, friendly service and venues that are welcoming for families, Tavern at the Rocks is one for the to-do list.
