For the thousands of Australians who can’t eat gluten, many simple food choices are no longer an option.
From fluffy white bread to biscuits and cereals, gluten is everywhere. Foods you may have once taken for granted are now a major no-no.
If you miss your daily cereal hit of old favourites Kellogg’s Cornflakes or Special K – rejoice! Kellogg’s has revealed gluten free version of both cereals, and they are both just as good as the originals.
Having been a Cornflakes and Special K regular in my younger days, I enthusiastically accepted the chance to try both cereals, plus I’m always looking for nutritious breakfast ideas for my toddler. She absolutely loved the Cornflakes, and now eats a bowl of them just about every other day.
Since neither of us are unfortunate to have issues with gluten, I also handed each cereal over to my gluten-intolerant aunt and asked her to try them. Having not been able to eat Cornflakes or Special K for some time, she enthusiastically took on the challenge.
And the outcome? No gluten here. Just delicious, nutritious breakfast cereals and one happy aunt.
