My daughter has never been a big eater first thing in the morning. She might graze on a piece of fruit toast or a bit of scrambled egg, but most of the time my lovingly prepared meals end up on the floor where the dog is waiting.

A late breakfast. As usual.

She doesn’t seem to want to eat anything first thing (not like myself, who wakes up ravenous) and around 9:30am, her tiny tummy wakes up. The problem is that we’re already out and about most mornings at that time. Luckily, household brand Kellogg’s has us both covered.

We’ve recently discovered Kellogg’s new Baked Muesli Breakfast Bars and Protein Bliss Bites, which have been a great way to keep us both energised while we’re out and about visiting Perth’s playgrounds and parks.

Kellogg’s Protein Bliss Bites.

The Breakfast Biscuits come in range of delicious flavours, including my daughter’s favourite – cranberries and almonds with a hint of honey and orange peel and chia seeds, both of which have a Four Health Star Rating . They are a delicious, no-fuss breakfast that can also be paired with a piece of fruit, such as a banana or a mandarin for a quick and easy morning tea idea.

Kellogg Australia and New Zealand Senior Nutrition Manager Dr Gina Levy, says the bars are an easy, on-the-go breakfast you can feel good about.

“Sometimes when you’re running out the door, you just need to grab something for fuel. These biscuits are made with premium ingredients and they score pretty well on the Health Star Rating. What’s more, they are perfectly paired with coffee!”

Kellogg’s Baked Muesli Breakfast Bars are also available in two gluten free varieties – apricot, fig and raisin and date and apple, which each have a Three Health Star Rating .

If you’re anything like me and you love a tasty little chocolate treat, Kellogg’s has also launched its new range of Special K Protein Bliss Bites. These little treats, however, are not just empty calories – they are packed with the protein your body needs to get you through a busy morning.

“These bars are absolutely moreish and contain more than six grams of protein each. Because we know that protein helps you feel fuller, this will really fill the gap for mums on the run! It’s just like a little chocolate treat, and with less than 110 calories, you don’t have to feel guilty about a little indulgence,” says Dr. Levy.

Mmmmm….protein.

The Bites are available in two tasty flavours – coconut, sweet cranberry and cocoa with a dark choc coating, which have a three Health Star Rating, and roasted almond, cocoa and cashew with a dark choc coating, which has an incredible 4.5 Health Star Rating.

I can’t decide which of the flavours is my favourite. On the one hand, I love almonds and cashews, but on the other hand I adore coconut, and the cranberry provides an extra hit of sweetness along with the cocoa and dark chocolate coating.

If you need a breakfast in a hurry or on the run for you and the kids, you can't go past Kellogg's new range of breakfast bars, while the protein bites can give you the fuel you need to get up and going.
