How to save money buying handmade children's clothing in Perth

I love buying handmade clothing for my daughter, but I always struggle to reconcile the prices with the very short length of time that she will fit into the gorgeous items.

Good as New Handmade Boutique seems to be the answer. Selling items that are barely worn, plus some new with tags, for a fraction of the new cost.

Good as New Handmade

By buying from Good As New Handmade Boutique you are:

• supporting the handmade community
• supporting small local business
• caring for our environment
• buying unique, one of a kind handmade items
• saving money

What’s not to love?

Good as New Handmade was started in late February 2016 by Perth mum of three, Emma McDougall. As well as very reasonable postage prices, she also offers a convenient pick-up service from her house in Scarborough. When I met her, Ayla (9 months) was sleeping on her back in a baby carrier, while Violet (2.5) and Noah (nearly 4) were playing in the living room.

Some of the items available

Like me, Emma loves buying handmade clothing for her children, but with three of them realised buying new was going to be very expensive! She set up the business to offer parents a one-stop shop to purchase secondhand clothing rather than having to comb forums and facebook pages for items from individual sellers.

My daughter is very happy in her secondhand Mini Mooches Cape

I was amazed at her energy given she’s had two under two, twice! Currently on maternity leave from her role in HR Admin for a mining company, she thought that in her limited spare time she’d set up a fantastic business buying and selling handmade clothing. Right now she’s busy sourcing more clothing, then ironing and photographing the items to upload to the website.

Once you're ready to part with your handmade items, you can even destash for boutique cash. Upload details of the items (minimum six) and Emma will let you know how much it's worth. If you're happy with the trade, she'll arrange collection, and upon delivery you will be given boutique cash, which you can then spend to buy more good as new handmade items.

Given I can't seem to stop buying handmade items, as least by buying secondhand from GANH Boutique I'll be saving money and supporting another Perth Mum!

Any Perth Mums Group readers who’d like to buy some gorgeous good as new handmade items can get 5% off by using discount code PERTHMUMS5OFF which is valid until 31/3/2016 at http://www.goodasnewhandmade.com.au/.
