Free Events for Kids At Fringe World 2017

Think that Fringe World is an adults only event? Think again! There are a heap of activities for kids of all ages taking place throughout Perth. We’ve put together a list of all the great, quirky events that won’t cost the earth.

Fringeworld Mermaids
Date: Every night from 20th January to 19th February 2017.
Age Range: All ages.
Location: The Pleasure Garden – Outdoor, James Street, Northbridge.

These amazing mermaids will be submersing each night in a giant tank in Northbridge, so bring the kids along to stare in wonder at these ‘real’ mermaids.

Make your own Balloonie Ball
Date: Saturday, 21st January 2017.
Age Range: Aged four and over.
Location: Sunset Verandah – Under the Sky, Brighton Reserve, The Esplanade, Scarborough.

The Balloonies will guide the kids through making their very own Balloonie Ball – suitable for juggling, squeezing, throwing and catching.

Pirates!! – Me Hearties
Date: Saturdays and Sundays from Saturday 21st January to Sunday, 5th February 2017.
Age Range: Ages five and over.
Location: Sensory Playground at the WA Museum, Perth Cultural
Cost: Free, but participants (ok, parents) are encouraged to pay the artists a tip or donation.

Led by Captain Boots and Redbeard, this choose your own adventure means the kids have the chance to dress up as pirates and let their imagination run wild.
Note: This event is ‘pay as you feel’ – while it is free, the actors and performers rely on donations and tips from the public.

Seaside Magic With the Eco Faeries
Date: 22nd January to 25th January 2017.
Age range: All ages.
Location: Sunset Verandah – Under the Sky, Brighton Reserve, The Esplanade, Scarborough.

Uke-A-Loony
Date: 11th February to 19th February 2017.
Age range: All ages.
Location: Paper Mountain, Lake Street, Northbridge.

Clowns and ukuleles and a very stupid problem. This weird little production will show the kids that it’s ok to be weird.

Rhythm House
Date: 27th to 29th January 2017.
Age range: All ages.
Location: Sensory Playground at the WA Museum, Perth Cultural Centre.

It’s great to be silly in this awesome interactive concert for kids – expect clapping, singing and lots of silly dance.

Little Pleasures
Date: Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd January 2017.
Age Range: Toddlers to 10 year olds.
