It's not always easy to commit to a regular playgroup, but Perth has a heap of free and casual playgroups you can take your little ones too.

Meeting fellow parents of babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers is not an easy task. One of the best places, however, to start is at a playgroup. PlaygroupWA has branches all over the state, plus there are community-run playgroups happening all over Perth. But what if you can 2019t commit to going every week? Or aren 2019t sure if it 2019s going to be the right place for you and your children? You might even find you have to go to several different playgroups before you find other parents you gel with. You could try a free playgroup, or a casual playgroup that don 2019t ask for up-front fees or allows you to drop in for a small fee, usually a gold coin donation. Here 2019s where to find free and casual playgroups in WA.

Playgroup WA

Playgroup WA is a good place to start when looking for a playgroup 2013 while you do have to pay the initial $35 annual fee, some playgroups may offer a free, initial session or casual session to see what you think. Simply contact the playgroup you are interested in joining and check what the fee structure is.

South of Perth

The Waiting Room, North Fremantle

Meets at 1 Johannah Street, North Fremantle every Friday from 10am to 12pm during school term.

$6 per casual session and bring a piece of fruit to share.

Froggy 2019s Fun On The Green

Meets Mondays and Tuesdays from 9:30am to 11:30am during school term.

Meets Monday mornings 9am to 11am at South Lake Primary School.

South Lake Ottey Family and Neighbourhood Centre

Meets Monday mornings from 9:30am to 11:30am.

Cost is $4 per visit.

Also runs a parent and toddler group on Thursdays 9:30am to 11:30am - cost is $3 per visit.

Meets Tuesdays 9am to 11am during school term.

First session is free.

Child and Parent Centre, East Maddington

Runs Monday and Tuesday mornings during school terms.

Armadale Community Family Centre

Young Parents Playgroup runs Mondays from 9:30am to 11:30am during school term and is for parents up to 25 years old and is free to attend.

Playaway Playgroup is for parents of all ages with children aged 0-5 years. It is run on Tuesdays from 9:30am to 11:30am during school term 2013 gold coin donation required.

Parivaar Playgroup is run by an English/Punjabi/Hindi/Urdu speaking group leader on Thursdays from 9:30am to 11:30am during school term 2013 gold coin donation required.

A free drop-in playgroup held outdoors from Monday to Thursday from 9:30am to 11:30am during school terms at Memorial Park, Armadale Community Family Centre and Gosnells Oval 2013 see the website for full details.
