Because too much snow is never enough, and also because we love free things, the enormous snow slides that will be set up in Forrest Place over the July school holidays will probably prove to be a winner for kids and parents alike.
The complicated registration process has been streamlined since last year, with the free tickets being released in two stages from Monday June 27th and you can book your preferred session well in advance. You will need to register for an Otix account first here and you can book up to five tickets per account.
There are two slides, a 4m ‘baby’ suitable for children under 110cm and the 12m ice monster which is for children up to 12 years. Not only is the snow real (made from freshly shaved ice), but the fun also lasts a decent amount of time with 25 minute sessions (and a limited number of children per session) from 10am to 4pm every day.
Easily accessible by train, Forrest Place is just across the road from the central station and there will be plenty of other free events in the city over the holidays just as the City Playground Pass and the Community Mural at Elizabeth Quay (although don’t forget the Museum is now closed for the next four years).
Essential Information When: Saturday 2nd July to Sunday 17th July
Where: Forrest Place, Perth City
Cost: Free but you will need to book tickets in advance (which are released from June 27th)
Turanga Music is the perfect way to engage your kids in music, whether it be for the first time or as a booster to their instrumental learning for aural and music theory. Running every Saturday throughout September at Bull Creek Community Centre.
