Feeling Concerned

I have been told my 9 month old son has severe fine and gross motor delays. They are doing testing to rule out neurological issues and have referred us to apply for NDIS. We are very confused at the moment because we knew he is behind his peers but the reaction from our pediatrician is real concern and he has thoughts around what it could be but won't go into it before the blood work comes back. Has anyone been through the same thing with their bub, Both good or bad outcomes ? When I google it's always worst case (cerebral palsy, MD etc.) and there is something in my gut that says it just isn't going to be that worst case.

Thanks :)
