Pirate Bar is a family-friendly suburban small bar located in Mount Hawthorn. As its name would suggest, the bar has been decorated with pirate ship decor. The bar has a synthetic grassed outdoor courtyard suitable as a kids play area. It has a ping pong table and there is a pirate chest full of pirate costumes and pirate swords for kids to play dress ups.

There are different seating options with high stools around wine barrels or comfortable sofas and padded chairs around normal tables.



Food needs to be ordered and paid for at the bar where you will be greeted by the friendly staff. You can set up an individual tab and pay by credit card later if you want to pay for all of your food and drinks together at the end. The food is sophisticated pub grub with some vegetarian, gluten free and nut free options on the menu plus a separate kids menu.

If you have a Parent Parcel membership, you can redeem a voucher for 20% off the total bill up to a value of $400. Water is available in a chilled dispenser to serve yourself.



High chairs are available and there is a baby change table in the accessible disabled toilet. There is free parking available in the car park at the rear of the bar.

To keep adults entertained, the bar runs a quiz night on Wednesdays, along with half price pizzas and other food and drink specials. Thursdays features a games night plus food and drink specials and there is live music on Sundays.

Happy hour is from 12:30pm to 1:30pm and 5:30pm to 6:30pm and includes $5 house wines by the glass, $10 cocktails and $10 pints. The drinks menu has an extensive selection of craft beers as well as wine, cider, spirits, liqueurs, cocktails, coffee and in keeping with the pirate theme there are 37 different types of local and international rums. The bar uses crowdDJ so you can choose what songs are played via your smartphone and there are several large TV screens in the bar.

Taking everything into account, Pirate Bar is a great pub to take your family to.
