Melbourne Cup is the race that stops the nation - except when you have young children to take care of!

The Melbourne Cup is known as the race that stops the nation and is a day for dressing up in your best frock and fascinator and sipping on bubbles. Now all you have to do is pick the winner. Too easy!

But when you have young children, nothing is easy! It’s hard enough to get out of the door, let alone find somewhere child-friendly to watch the race with the kids in tow. Thankfully, there are a few venues in Perth who will welcome children on Melbourne Cup day, and you can read more about these events below.

Melbourne Cup – Mums and Bubs, Rendezvous Hotel, Scarborough

Enjoy a complimentary glass of bubbles on arrival and a two-course set lunch.

Prizes for best dress mum and baby, plus sweepstakes.

The hotel will have a kids corner with face painting and craft.

Adults $49, kids aged 2 to 12 years $25, kids under 2 years are free (unless they require a meal) and high chair hire is $5 or you can bring your own.

The Atrium Garden Restaurant will offer a delicious buffet lunch and glass of sparkling wine on arrival.

There will be activities for the children, including a visit from the Freedom Fairies!

Tickets are $55 for adults and $20 for children aged 4 to 12 years. Kids 3 and under are free.

A Melbourne Cup high tea you can bring the kids to!

Ticket includes a delicious high tea, take-home flower crown and kids entertainment and activities.

Cost is $75 for adults and $25 for the kids high tea.
