Australia Day is one of Perth’s favourite celebrations, with lots of family-friendly activities happening around our city. Below is a list of some of the fantastic events happening throughout Perth on Australia Day on Thursday, 26th January 2017.

Perth CBD and Surrounds

City of Perth Australia Day Events
Time: Between 3pm and 8:30pm.
Address: Langley Park, corner Plain and Hay Streets, Perth.

Langley Park will host a heap of Australia Day events, including a petting zoo, water playground, rides and amusements, food market and a sausage sizzle. The Air and Water Show will take place between 3:30pm and 7:50pm, plus there will be a Birak Indigenous concert between 3pm and 7.30pm in the Supreme Court Gardens.



Australia Day Skyworks, Perth
Time: From 8pm.
Address: Visible from Kings Park, South Perth, Elizabeth Quay and the city parks and foreshore.

Now Perth’s largest Australia Day celebration, the Australia Day Fireworks will feature a host of free entertainment all day long, such as air and water shows, live music and entertainment, all topped off by a spectacular fireworks display. You can view the fireworks from various locations, including Kings Park, the South Perth Foreshore, Elizabeth Quay and various parks around the city.



North of the River

City of Cambridge Australia Day Festival
Time: 8am to 12.30pm.
Address: Perry Lakes Reserve, off Perry Lakes Reserve, Floreat.

This family friendly event at Perry Lakes will include a free breakfast and lots of children’s entertainment.

The Marina Mindarie Australia Day 2017
Time: 11am to late.
Address: Ocean Falls Boulevard, Mindarie.

There will be plenty of activities happening at Mindarie Marina this Australia Day, including a giant sandpit, bouncing castle, finger painting, bubble zone and a Jesters Pie eating competition in the afternoon.



South of the River

South Perth Australia Day Celebration Zone
Time: 3pm to 7:30pm.
Address: Sir James Mitchell Park, South Perth.

This alcohol and smoke free event is the ultimate destination for Perth families on Australia Day. The Australia Day Celebration Zone will include over 1000 free, family friendly activities for all ages throughout the South Perth foreshore. You’ll find heaps of shady spots, places to buy food and drink and lots to see and do, including the Australia Day Skyshow during the evening.

Australia Day in Armadale
Time: 5pm to 9pm.
Address: Minnawarra Park, corner Orchard Avenue and Armadale Road, Armadale.

The City of Armadale will host a bunch of free evening activities before finishing with a fireworks display. You’ll find water play, amusement rides, live music and a food market.



Australia Day at Kwinana Adventure Park
Time: 9am to 12:30pm.
Address: Walgreen Crescent, Calista.

Join in Kwinana’s annual Australia Day celebration and awards at the brand new Kwinana Adventure Park. Free activities will include a water slide, live music, bungee run, face painting, bubble station, barbeque breakfast and FREE ice cream for the first 500 children.

Australia Day Beach Festival, Coogee Beach
Time: 8am to 12pm.
Address: Coogee Beach Reserve, Powell Road, Coogee.

Coogee Beach’s Australia Day Beach Festival is shaping up to be an action packed morning, with a watermelon eating competition, sandcastle building, rides, games live music and a free sausage sizzle.

Australia Day at Kalamunda Water Park
Time: 9am to 6pm.
Address: Kalamunda Water Park, corner of Collins and Canning Road, Kalamunda.
Cost: Two for one entry on Australia Day.

This alcohol-free event will include fun for the kids, free barbeque hire and of course – waterslides!



Australia Day Party at Outback Splash
Time: 10am to 5pm.
Address: 1635 Neaves Road, Bullsbrook.
Cost: $33 for adults, $26.50 for kids aged four to 15 years, concession $29, seniors $22.

Outback Splash’s Australia Day party will feature a DJ, a special Aussie burger, lamingtons and Tilly the Kangaroo.
