The best family-friendly Australia Day events for Perth in 2020.

In 2020, Australia Day falls on Sunday, 26th January. Perth Mums Group has put together a list of some fantastic, family-friendly events where you can enjoy the day with the kids in a safe environment.

All events are held on Australia Day on Sunday, 26th January unless stated otherwise.



PERTH CBD and WESTERN SUBURBS

City of Perth Australia Day Skyworks, Langley Park
WHERE: Langley Park, Perth
TIME: Entertainment from 3:30pm, fireworks at 8pm

The City of Perth Australia Day Skyworks will feature the free Lotterywest Entertainment Zone at Langley Park, plus the Birak Concert at the Supreme Court Gardens. The Air Show also makes its return to Perth skies from 3.30pm. Be sure to secure your spot on the foreshore to watch the spectacular fireworks display at 8pm.

Australia Day Family FUN Day!
WHERE: Herdsman Lake Tavern, Wembley
TIME: From 12pm

The Australia Day Family Fun Day at the Herdmans Tavern will feature a petting zoo, bouncy castle, face painting, kids’ dance party, arts and crafts, bubble party, kids charity raffle, indoor play area and more!

Australia Day Festival, Perry Lakes Reserve
WHERE: Perry Lakes Reserve, off Perry Lakes Drive, Floreat
TIME : 8:30am-12:30pm

The Australia Day Festival at Perry Lakes Reserve will feature plenty of entertainment for the kids, live music and a free barbecue breakfast, thanks to the Lions Club of Floreat.

Australia Day 2020 Celebration, Town of Cottesloe
WHERE: Cottesloe Civic Centre, Broome Street, Cottesloe
TIME: 8am

Everyone is invited to join the local 2020 Australia Day Citizen of the Year winners as they receive their awards, see newest citizens take their oath and enjoy a free Australia Day sausage sizzle.

Australia Day Pool Party
WHERE: Claremont Aquatic Centre

SOUTHERN SUBURBS

Australia Day 2020 on South Perth Foreshore
WHERE: Sir James Mitchell Park
TIME: From 3pm, fireworks at 8pm

The Celebration Zone is a smoke and alcohol free area packed with free activities, rides and entertainment for all ages. The event starts at 3pm and will conclude at 7.30pm before the City of Perth Skyworks at 8pm.

Australia Day in Armadale
WHERE: Minnawarra or Memorial Park, Armadale
TIME: From 5pm

The City of Armadale’s Australia Day tradition is back! This alcohol and smoke free event includes a jam-packed evening of festivities and fireworks at Minnawarra or Memorial Park. There will be heaps of activities for all ages including carnival rides, a Water Fun Zone, lots of food stalls to tempt your tastebuds and a full program of live music showcasing incredible local talent!

Aussie Day at Swan Yacht Club
WHERE: Swan Yacht Club, Riverside Road, East Fremantle

Australia Day Charity Breakfast 2020
