A fantastic spot for a spot of family-friendly camping.

Our family love camping.

We love how it encourages each of us to ‘unplug’ from our everyday routines and get back to basics.

When our camping destination was Peaceful Bay, it was just after Christmas and I had high hopes of experiencing just that, a little snippet of peace.

I had never visited Peaceful Bay before but I am pleased to report it did not disappoint!

Peaceful Bay is situated approximately 446kms south of Perth, between Denmark and Walpole.

Peaceful Bay Caravan Park is the only camping ground available in Peaceful Bay, however there are holiday homes available for rent too if camping is not your preference.

Things to do while in Peaceful Bay

If you don’t wish to hop back in your car until you are ready to go home, then Peaceful Bay has a lot to offer.

The caravan park is large and provides beautiful grassed powered and unpowered sites underneath gorgeous peppy trees.

It is the perfect place to unwind and read a book in the sunshine, play totem tennis, visit the playground on site or ride bikes on the many paths through the park.

Go-To Unwinding Rituals To Help You Relax

There is a mini-mart, fish and chips shop and post box located near the caravan park office.

An easy walk (even with a 4 year old) to the beach opened up a whole other world of experiences (and peace!)

The waters of Peaceful Bay are clear, shallow and calm. Little fish swim near your ankles as you wade through the water and the cutest crabs scamper on the rocks.

Families can bring their own kayaks, stand up paddle boards, boogie boards to use in the bay area.

On the edges of the bay are manageable rocks to climb and do a spot of fishing from.

Things to do outside of Peaceful Bay

Moving out of the bay and towards the open beach you can enjoy 4WD on the beach as well as fishing from the beach.

A short drive from the bay you can visit the Valley of the Giants and experience walking through the tops of the Tingle trees.

It is simply breath-taking to engage with nature from this perspective.

With a 40 minute drive you can visit picturesque Denmark which hosts a lovely playground near the river, as well as the family friendly Boston Brewery.

A similar drive in the opposite direction and you can visit Walpole. If you are lucky enough with your timing you might just be able to catch the Walpole Markets that run once a month.
