Down the Garden Path is a family-run nursery and café in Myaree that is 100 per cent child-friendly.

Owner Lauren and her mum, a registered emergency department nurse, have always been keen gardeners and pride themselves on being friendly and knowledgeable, and on their ever-expanding range of unique and eclectic garden and home décor products coming into their centre.

With water features, water plants, indoor plants, ferns, herbs and vegetables, along with a range of children’s gardening products and some awesome decorations, there is something to suit every taste.



Down the Garden Path also stocks native plants, succulents and cactus, carnivorous plants, potting mix and fertilisers, plus garden accessories, making it a one-stop shop for all your gardening needs. If you’re looking for truly one-off gifts, check out the range of giftwares and homewares.

For Lauren, while this was a massive leap into the unknown, it’s also been a whirlwind adventure and an exciting dream come true. On top of starting up the business, Lauren is also studying landscape design while caring for her two-and-a-half year old daughter.

Upon visiting the nursery, you’ll find Lauren’s daughter ‘running’ the shop with the help of her three legged dog, Ruby. There is a fully fenced café, which is perfect for a coffee with your friends and mums group, with room for the kids to play and toys provided.



The café currently sells coffee and a range of sweet treats, which makes a perfect morning or afternoon tea break, but Lauren is more than happy for parents to bring in outside food if you buy a drink from the café.

For a truly fun outing with the kids, Down the Garden Path will soon be starting ‘Bubble Fun Wednesdays’ from 10am to 11.30. For $10, you’ll get a coffee, a tasty slice or cookie and one pop-top drink. The kids will love running and chasing around after the bubbles, which will be flowing freely from the bubble machine set up in the outdoor café area.
