Unfortunately the Isle of Voyage is now closed.

The next time you’re in need of a child-friendly catch up in or near the Perth CBD, the Isle of Voyage is one to check out.

Located on ‘The Island’ at Elizabeth Quay, the Isle of Voyage has a lot to like for parents, including a children’s menu, colouring pencils and high chairs. Oh, and did I mention it is located right next to a playground?

Yep – the Elizabeth Quay Island Playground is a stones throw away. You can visit Isle of Voyage for coffee and morning tea, lunch, dinner and weekend breakfasts and let the kids have a play afterwards.

The Island isn't actually an island and is largely connected to the mainland, but regardless, it's always vital to keep an eye on children around the Swan River and any body of water and the restaurant does sit closely to the river.

I stopped by Isle of Voyage with my two little girls with the intention of having lunch, but we were a bit early and opted for coffee and cake instead. We sat outside at the back, overlooking the water and with a view of the CBD. They have high chairs and serve babyccinos – always a good sign of child-friendliness.

Before lunch is served you can enjoy a delicious array of sweet cakes and treats, including slices, tarts and cheesecakes, along with coffee, tea or cold drinks. We chose the chocolate and walnut brownie with a scoop of ice cream, which is an extra cost. The waitress had to twist my arm, of course...

The coffee, cake and babyccino were served promptly and the brownie eaten just as fast as we'd received it. The brownie was gooey and delicious, yet a bit on the sweet side for me. Olivia helped herself to the ice cream and left most of the brownie for me after poking a few holes in it.

Lunch starts from 12pm daily, and there is a children's menu available that has small number of options. Dinner is also served daily, plus breakfast from 8am on the weekend.

You can also grab a takeaway coffee and head over to the playground or take a walk around Elizabeth Quay, with the Isle of Voyage open for coffee from 11am on weekdays.

Elizabeth Quay isn't just great for tourists and office workers – it has options for parents and families with young children too!
