Some shopping centres are better than others for child-friendliness, and Karrinyup is one of them.
I seriously
dislike shopping with my children, but sometimes, it cannot be avoided. I’m forever grateful though, that Perth has some fantastic family-friendly shopping centres to make the task a little easier.
Karrinyup Shopping Centre is currently undergoing a massive redevelopment in which it will be double in size by the time it is finished. Karrinyup is certainly one of the more child-friendly centres I’ve come across in Perth, and here is why.
Karrinyup Kangas Club
Join the Karrinyup Kangas Kids Club and receive access to exciting activities and special offers!
Suitable for children aged between 3 and 12 years.
Hear about and join in Exclusive Kids Club in-centre activities and competitions.
Be the first to hear about school holiday and promotional entertainment.
Receive a birthday card and special birthday gift!
Kanga’s Kid’s Club Events
These are free events exclusively for Kanga’s Kid’s Club members!
Take place every fortnight at the centre and there are exciting art, craft, music and dance activities to take part in.
Jungle Gyms
Karrinyup has not one, but TWO jungle gyms for the kids to play on - definitely a fantastic way to break up the boredom of a big shopping outing!
One is located near Big W, and the other is located in Centre Court.
They are open all day during centre trading hours.
School Holiday Activities
Character stage shows and meet and greets during school holidays.
Art and craft activities.
Just some of the stage shows and meet and greets in the past couple of years have included Peppa Pig, Hello Kitty, PJ Masks, Pinkfong Baby Shark and Bob the Builder!
Other Seasonal Activities
Karrinyup usually runs seasonal activities, such as at Easter and Christmas.
You might even meet seasonal favourites such as the Easter Bunny and Santa!
Free Kiddy Car Hire
Make shopping a little bit easier by hiring a FREE Kiddie Car!
There are two options available - a single push along car with a bag for shopping items, or a car with a larger shopping trolley.
Visit the Taxi Lounge, located in the Fresh Food Mall, between My Healthy Place and Karrinyup Place to hire a Kiddie Car.
