Little Stove is a charming cafe located south of the river in Bicton. The quirky vintage decor, rustic mismatched furniture and the old fashioned sofa in front of a fireplace gives the cafe a warm, welcoming, home-style feel. The cafe is bustling and often noisy with the sounds of babies, kids, conversation and the coffee grinder bouncing off the wooden floors. Seating is available both indoors and outdoors. Wooden high chairs are available and there is plenty of space for prams around the outdoor seating. Dogs are also welcome in the outdoor seating area, which has water bowls for animals to drink from and dog treats are available to purchase in the cafe. There are bike racks out the front of the cafe making it a great refreshment stop after a bike ride, or if you are driving there is plenty of free parking at the front and side of the cafe.

The cafe is open for breakfast, lunch and high tea with all food prepared on site. Where possible, fresh ingredients are sourced from their kitchen garden and other produce is from local suppliers. All of the food is free of preservatives and additives. The cafe has an order and pay at the counter system, which is great for when you are catching up with friends as it is much easier than trying to split the bill.

The friendly staff will promptly bring chilled water to your table when you arrive. The menu is limited but changes regularly plus there are daily specials. The menu features some vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. There is a separate kids menu and an impressive range of cakes, slices, muffins, coffee and tea with several dairy free milk alternatives. Babycinos are not listed on the menu but are available.
Little Stove also has a gift shop that sells a range of reasonably priced gifts and produce. This includes greeting cards, mugs, soaps, candles, kids activity booklets and locally produced honey. Newspapers are available to purchase plus there are reading copies inside the cafe. Next to the fireplace and sofa is a book exchange shelf, a basket filled with children’s toys and books and buckets of crayons with colouring-in paper. This kid-friendly cafe is a hidden suburban gem that is too good to not spread the word about!
