A small play centre aimed at the youngest members of the family.
The Cannington Leisureplex play centre may not be very big, or have all the bells and whistles of a big indoor play centre, but itís got enough to keep the youngest members of the family entertained for a couple of hours.
My two children are aged 18 months and 3.5 years, and the centre is aimed at children up to 8 years. We paid a visit on a very quiet Tuesday morning during the school term.

There is a small, multi-level play structure with a small ball pit, things to climb on and through, plus two racing slides and soft steps.
The centre also has a section for babies and younger toddlers, which has lots of padded items to play with, plus sensory play and small, age appropriate toys.
There is a small area with tables and chairs in which you can sit down and have snacks or a drink, and this is one of the very few play centres in which you can bring your own food to. There are toilets, baby change facilities and high chairs available.
The centre has very limited opening hours, from Tuesday to Friday from 9:30am to 12pm, so there is only a short timeframe in which to visit on any given week, but itís an ideal indoor spot to take toddlers and preschoolers to. It is closed on public holidays.
Parents can hire the play centre for a birthday party! Exclusive hire parties are available for children up to eight years, and Epica cafe, the Leisureplexís onsite cafe, can also help with catering. All parties run for two hours. There are also pool parties and splash jungle parties available.
Entry fees are $6 for children aged 12 months and over, regardless of what day you visit. If you book with a group, the price is $5 per child. The play centre entry is also where the centre creche is located.
Cannington Leisureplex has lots of other activities for families, including a library, swimming and an outdoor splash pad.
The play centre isnít suited to older children, but definitely an indoor destination for toddlers and younger primary-school aged children. It will keep them entertained and running around for a couple of hours before lunch.
