An awesome adventure park for families in and around Baldivis.
Baldivis is a rapidly growing suburbs in Perth’s south. It has a fantastic shopping centre at Stockland Baldivis, a huge number of schools and childcare facilities and lots of great parks and playgrounds.
My children and I went for a play at Brightwood Adventure Park on Solis Boulevard, just off Baldivis Road in Baldivis. This sprawling park has so much for kids of all ages to explore.
The Perth Crochet Club meets weekly to learn crochet, meet other Perth mums, and have a good chat. Whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned pro, everyone is welcome to come along!
At the top of the playground is an impressive play structure. It has climbing structure for a range of ages from toddlers to older kids.
Toddlers and preschoolers can climb to the first orange sphere, early primary school aged kids to the second and older kids to the third and top sphere.
There is plenty of soft sand to play in, plus a digger the kids can have a go on. To the side of this area is a large undercover picnic area with tables, public barbecues and a water fountain, complete with doggie drink bowl.
Brightwood Adventure Park has an area dedicated to nature play. This space also has a swing set, including two swings with toddler-safe seats and a cubby house type of structure.
Optus Stadium will be transformed into the city’s biggest Christmas Festival in November and December.
Next to this area is the toddler play area with a rolling walkway, caterpillar to climb in and out of and an undercover picnic table. There is also a birds nest swing next to the toddler area.
Brightwood has plenty of highlights, with a double flying fox among them. It has an accessible harness seat and a traditional circular seat, meaning kids of all abilities can have a go.
Over in a separate play area, the park is a roundabout plus another bird nest swing. There is also an undercover picnic shelter in this area, plus a barbecue.
At the centrepiece of this section is a metallic and rope based climbing frame, leading up to a big red slide, which is suitable for primary school aged kids. It also has a standing see-saw, which is a bit different!
While there isn’t a cafe in the direct vicinity of Brightwood Adventure Park, Stockland Baldivis is just a short drive away, along with drive thru takeaway shops so you don’t have to drag the kids in and out of the car if you need a coffee or a snack before or after you visit the park.
If you live in Baldivis or the surrounding areas, Brightwood Adventure Park is worth a visit for a morning or afternoon of fun for kids of all ages.
