Basketball continues to be a popular participation sport for kids in Perth, and here's how your children can get involved.

Are your children interested in playing basketball? If you are looking for a great team sport for them, basketball is a popular choice. There are plenty of places in Perth that offer basketball for children as young as five years old, and here is where you can start looking.

Basketball WA

Basketball WA is the governing body for basketball in Western Australia. It runs a number of programs for participation, development and competition.



Aussie Hoops

Aussie Hoops is an introduction to basketball for children aged 5-10 years. This national program is open to children of all abilities and introduces them to basic basketball skills, social co-operation and sports participation, all in a fun, safe environment.

U14 Future Develop Program

Under 14s who display a talent for basketball can take part in Basketball WA’s Future Development Program. It aims to bring together the most talented Under 14 athletes in the state in a competitive environment, and to expose, educate, and develop athlete’s knowledge and understanding of concepts needed to be successful in BWA High Performance Programs.
