Baby Friendly Cinemas In Perth

August 2016

Have you ever felt desperate to see the latest films at the cinema, yet don’t have a babysitter? Well, why not take your baby with you!

A number of Perth cinemas run special screenings for parents and babies. They are a great way for parents to get out and about without having the stress of finding a babysitter. Worried about your baby crying? There’s no need to be, with plenty of other parents enjoying the screening with noisy babies too. The lights are dimmed and there are change tables available either in the cinema or in the bathroom. Children under five are free to enter. As a general rule, the sessions are not screened during school holidays.

Hoyts Prams At The Pix screen every Wednesday at selected cinema.

So where can you find these special sessions? Hoyts Prams At The Pix is a weekly movie session for parents and babies showing on Wednesdays. The really great news, besides being able to get out of the house and enjoy a giant bucket of popcorn and a Choc-top, is the price. Tickets are only $11 per person. Bargain!

You can find further information about which Hoyts cinemas hold the sessions, and the monthly screening schedule on the Hoyts website.

Event Cinemas Bring Your Baby sessions are on three times a week.

Event Cinemas Bring Your Baby sessions run three times a week. This means you can view the selected movie on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, at various times of the day. If you’re a movie buff, you can even purchase a multi-pack of five passes for $40 – that's just $8 per movie! For more information about Event Cinemas and the Bring Your Baby sessions, click here.

Grand Cinemas offer tickets for as low as $6.

If you’re a Playgroup WA member, you can purchase tickets to any Grand Cinemas Bubs Club movie screening for a measly $6 – that’s less than a coffee in some parts of Perth! If you’re a Grand Cinema Loyalty member, you’ll also pay $6, and for everyone else the price is $8. The Bubs Club screening information is usually updated on the website a week in advance and movie sessions are held on Wednesdays at Armadale and Joondalup.

Ace Cinemas in Midland and Rockingham also have a Bubs Club for parents and babies on Wednesdays. Playgroup WA members and Ace Cinema loyalty members will receive discounted ticket prices, and general admission tickets are just $10. You can read more information here.

Getting to the cinema when you have a baby is no longer a hassle. Pack that nappy back and enjoy a flick – and some much needed time away from the home.
