Celebrate the 125th anniversary of the modern fire and rescue service in Western Australia with a visit to the heritage-listed Perth Central Fire Station as part of the City of Perth’s Boorloo Heritage Festival.

Over two fun-filled days, you will have the unique opportunity to explore the first fire station in the City of Perth where firefighters lived and worked over 100 years ago. Join us on the balcony where our volunteers will share stories of firefighter antics - though some may be more legend than truth! Also lurking on the balcony is Igor the spider, who would startle many an innocent passer-by on the footpath below!



Children can make their own Igor to take home and meet iconic 90s mascot Freddy the Fire Truck! They can try on a real brass helmet, dress up as a firefighter and sit in a real fire truck. To finish the visit the family can take a ride around the block on an original 1960s Bedford fire truck!
