The Best Outdoor Spots For A Child's Birthday Party

Below are some of the best outdoor areas in Perth to hold a child's birthday party at, as recommended by Perth Mums group members. Obviously the list doesn't include all the great spots in Perth, but this is a great place to start. Remember to always do your own research and make sure the area meets your family needs.

Central Perth and Western Suburbs

Hyde Park, Perth
Address: Corner Vincent and William Streets, Perth.

This pretty park in central Perth has everything you need for an outdoor birthday party, including barbeques, a water playground for those hot days and play equipment.

Kings Park, Perth
Address: Fraser Avenue, Perth.

Kings Park is one of the loveliest parks in Perth, and there are plenty or areas for a barbeque and picnic, plus you can hire parts of the park if you would prefer. There are several playgrounds plus a couple of cafes around the park.

Lake Jualbup, Shenton Park
Address: Evans Street, Shenton Park.

This gorgeous park has barbeques and playgrounds, plus a beautiful rotunda that can be booked for birthday functions. Possibly the one downside is that the toilets are a bit of a hike from the playground.

North of Perth

Clarko Reserve, Trigg
Featuring an all-ages playground, shaded areas, barbeques and toilets, Clarko Reserve is close to the beach for kids who love to swim or surf.
Address: Between Karrinyup Road and South West Coast Highway, Trigg.

Stirling Civic Gardens, Stirling‬
Address: Cedric Street, Stirling (next to Stirling Train Station.)

With a huge playground, undercover picnic tables, barbeques and a lovely duck pond, Stirling Civic Gardens is somewhat well hidden, but certainly worth a visit and well suited for a birthday party.

Riverside Gardens, Bayswater
Address: Milne and King William Streets, Bayswater.

This playground has lots of shady riverside areas for a picnic or barbeque, plus picnic tables and barbques, plenty of space for the kids to run around and play equipment.

Landsdale Farm School run kid’s birthday parties – beyond the standard entry fees, there’s no extra cost, and you can bring your own decorations and each guest will get a ride on the Landsdale Farm Cart!

Meerilinga Community Centres
Address: Ballajura, Beechboro, Cockburn, High Wycombe, Kingsley and Woodvale.

Meerilinga offers rooms for hire for birthday parties and other functions.

Hillary’s Boat Harbour
Hillary’s is a great place to hold birthday parties, with

Hillary’s Boat Harbour boasts a huge number of attractions for families, including plenty of picnic areas and barbeques, plus playgrounds, shallow beaches, and of course, The Great Escape, one of Perth’s premier waterpark destinations.

Annie's Landing Playground Ellenbrook

This awesome adventure play park is set among a natural bush setting and has a separate toddler play area. It has a flying fox, barbeques, picnic shelters, drinking water and toilets.

Whiteman Park, Whiteman
Address: Lot 99a Lord Street, Whiteman.

Whiteman Park is packed full of things for kids to do for a birthday party, including several museums, the Children’s Forest and Caversham Wildlife Park. You can book a sheltered area by contacting the park.

Kingsway Dinosaur Park, Madeley
Address: Corner Sports Drive and Goal Way, Kingsley.

If your kids love dinosaus, this nature based playground is a fantastic destination. It is partly fenced, with picnic tables, barbeques and toilets.

South of Perth

Heathcote Reserve, Applecross
Address: 58 Duncraig Road, Applecross.

At the heart of this playground is the impressive pirate ship playground with views overlooking the Swan River. The only downside is the lack of shaded areas.

Point Walter, Bicton

Point Walter has several areas you can hire for birthdays through the City of Melville, most of which are close to the two playgrounds, barbeque area and picnic tables. There’s lots of shaded areas, toilets and little beach areas plus a café and takeaway kiosk.

"We had my little girl's first birthday here and you can hire parts of the park with a barbecue etc, plus it has two different playgrounds and is generally a very pretty place." – PMG Member.

Kwinana Adventure Park

This amazing state of the art playground has a fully functioning kitchen – including a fridge and microwave – as part of an impressive undercover area that you can hire out for three hours via the City of Kwinana.

Woodman Point, Coogee

Woodman Point is a popular place for families, making it a great spot for birthday parties. It has picnic and barbeque areas, a shaded playground and it is close to the beach.

Coogee Beach, Coogee

Not too far from Woodman’s Point, you’ll find Coogee Beach, a lovely spot for a children’s birthday party. There are undercover picnic tables, barbeques, toilets, plus a café and playground. The only downside is a lack of shaded areas.

Bibra Lake Regional Playground

With barbeque and picnic areas plus heaps of space to set up for a party, Bibra Lake’s new playground will be a popular spot for a celebration.

Bell Park, Rockingham

Bell Park is located along the Rockingham Foreshore, and has loads of space for a kid’s party. There are barbeques, lots of shaded areas, toilets and a heap of different playgrounds to choose from.

Adventurescape Playground, South Yunderup
Address: Inlet Boulevard, Austin Lakes, South Yunderup.

With some very quirky playground equipment, this playground is a little bit different from the rest. Although it has barbeques and picnic areas, the playground has very little shade, so it may not be an ideal spot for summer birthday parties.

East and Swan Valley

Faulkner Park, Cloverdale (Volcano Playground)
Address: Corner Abernathy Road and Wright Street, Cloverdale.

Situated next to the Belmost Oasis Leisure Centre, this gated playground is a heap of fun for kids of all ages and an ideal place for a party. It has picnic areas, barbeques and a unique play space to explore.

Araluen Botanic Park

This stunning botanic park is home to some of Perth’s most beautiful tulips, but it’s also a great spot for a birthday party. There are heaps of picnic areas, shaded spots and barbeques, but the downside is you will have to pay to enter the park.

Cuddly Animal Farm Swan Valley

A birthday party at the Cuddly Animal Farm includes farm animal interaction and feeding, free tractor rides, barbeque and picnic facilities and even free tea and coffee for the parents.
