Hopefully you’ve gotten through the first week of the holidays unscathed. This week, it’s all about the big day – Christmas Day. There are, however, still plenty of activities going on in and around Perth for the second week of the holidays.

Free Flicks for Kids, Northbridge
Check out the family favourite Christmas film Elf at Free Flicks for Kids at the Northbridge Piazza.

Christmas Pot Luck Lunch, Matilda Bay, Crawley
Join other Perth families looking to make new friends on Christmas Day at this free Potluck Picnic lunch. Pack a picnic, your bathers and the cricket set and have a fun Christmas Day. Run by Meetup group Live the Life You Love, you will need to join the group and RSVP.

A Sausage Went For A Walk One Day – State Library Exhibit
See this exhibition dedicated to some of Western Australia’s favourite childhood authors.

Discovery Zone – State Library Exhibit
Learn about meteorites, dinosaur trackways, shipwreck artefacts and see the inside of an elephant’s body – wow!

Date: Now until Tuesday, 31st January 2017 during library hours.

Tutankhamun – His Tomb and His Treasures Exhibition, Perth
See the wonders of the Boy King Tutankhamum and his treasures at this spectacular exhibition at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Date: Every day from 10am until Sunday, 15th January 2017.
Address: Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, Mounts Bay Road, Perth.
Cost: Adult $31, kids/students $19, family $80 plus any booking fees.

Take a tour of this unique replica ship and learn all about life onboard.

Dark Universe at Scitech, West Perth
This short documentary is showing at the Scitech planetarium and is free with general entry. Not suitable for kids aged under four years.

Date: Every day 10am to 5pm from now until Monday, 30th January 2017 (except Christmas Day and Boxing Day.)

South of the River and South-East

Activities at the Fremantle Markets
On Friday, 23rd December, the West Oz Wildlife, one of Perth’s leading petting zoos will be visiting the Fremantle Markets, while on Saturday, 24th December you can visit the the Baby Animal Farm and the Market Fairies will make a magical appearance at 10am.

Date: Wildlife Zoo every Friday until Friday, 27th January 2017, Baby Animal Farm Saturday, 24th December from 9am to 11am and Market Fairies Saturday, 24th December from 10am to 1pm.

Santa’s Enchanted Wardrobe, Fremantle
Enter the wardrobe and into a winter wonderland where you will meet some magical Christmas characters.

Tuck into food van goodness and enjoy the South Beach sunset, along with lots of family friendly entertainment.

A Monster Misson – WA Shipwreck Galleries, Fremantle
Explore the seas in search of underwater creatures and monsters of the deep!
